What is the Frigitek?
The Frigitek® is
a patented, solid state energy saving device, designed for walk-in

By slowing the fans to a low speed when
the compressor shuts down, energy consumed by the fans is
dramatically reduced.

the compressor duty cycle is reduced; saving energy as well as

Reduced air movement, due to slower fan
speed, minimizes dehydration of perishables thus extending their

The Frigitek system,
whether single-phase or three-phase, does not harm motors and in
particular does not cause them to “burn out”. This is a frequent and
reasonable concern, held by people who are not familiar with Frigitek
controllers. It’s understood that to reduce voltage on any motor
connected to a fixed torque load, would result in damage to the motor.
However to reduce the fan by 50% reduces the torque by 75%.
The first Frigitek
was installed in 1998 and has worked continuously without flaw to this
day.
